With everything happening in the world at the moment, the majority of us are spending more time in our homes. It can feel difficult to keep up with a good lifestyle when your gym in Spring is closed.
You could have transformed into the educator, home cook, and parent in your home. Maybe you are working from home for a while and hoping to find some normalcy during your day.
During these unpredictable times, it can be tempting to stay on the couch, watching the news and mindless shows, and casually losing your normal workout routine. We may be stranded at home, but we can always find ways to continue healthy behavior! Take a look at our favorite helpful habits you can incorporate into your current daily routine to keep active, support your immune system, and manage momentum toward reaching your wellness intentions.
Try Home Workouts
One positive aspect of spending extra time at home is the flexibility in your daily routine. Examine your day. Where can you make ten minutes for a short workout? A useful exercise session doesn’t need to go on forever to be effective. As long as your heart rate escalates, you will get fat and calorie-burning benefits! Try our 12-minute home fitness class you can finish anytime, anywhere!
Have Your Kids Join Your Workout
The pools may be closed, but there are still hundreds of ways to offer fun activities your kiddos will like. At the end of the day, staying active isn’t just for mom and dad! Here are a couple of our favorite fun (and free!) ways the whole family can get all together:
- Take the dog for a walk
- Play frisbee out in the sunshine (hello Vitamin D!)
- Head out for a bike ride or roller skate journey
- Design a floral arrangement with your homegrown blossoms
- Play ball in the backyard
- Spot your sidewalk chalk and create a driveway work of art
- Have a dinner cooking competition
- Switch on the family playlist and have a dance party
Plan Healthy Meals
Are you doing your best to stay away from shopping for groceries? That works! Now is the time to get creative in the kitchen and include your favorite canned goods and frozen foods. With the kiddos at home, long times at work, and the usual household chores, keep your mealtimes easy this season.
At FXB, we make good nutrition uncomplicated for our members. Grab your chosen protein type from the freezer, find a carb for a side, and add some healthy fat. And there you have it: a healthy dinner without the fuss. (And if it’s your fun day, call for a pizza and hang at home!)
